Nathan Bedford Forrest
Nathan Bedford Forrest was born in Tennessee in 1821 served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was known as a very strange officer, having enlisted as a private but achieving the rank of division commander by the war's end. He was also very wealthy at the onset of the war thanks to his endeavors in real estate. During the war, he became known as a very successful cavalry commander. His advances in the field of cavalry tactics even led to his peers coining him "the wizard of the saddle." Following the war, he remained a prominent figure in the South, and started the Ku Klux Klan. He became the terrorist organization's first grand wizard. He was also the namesake for the main character in the 1994 film Forrest Gump.
